These are letters from the American Civil War era that directly relate to the 117th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment which mustered in at Oneida county where Hamilton College is located.
We are fortunate to have 58 letters related to George W. Pearl of Clinton, New York, who was a private in Company C of the 117th NYS Infantry Regiment.
All these letters have been transcribed and encoded in TEI to make them easier to reading and search.
Digitization of this collection was made possible by grants from the New York State Regional Bibliographic Databases and Interlibrary Resources Sharing Program through CLRC (Central New York Library Resources Council).
