97th New York State Volunteer Infantry Regiment

Description

The 97th New York State Volunteer Infantry Regiment recruited soldiers from Oneida county, New York in which Hamilton College is located. It was also known as the "Third Oneida Regiment," the "Boonville Regiment" or the "Conkling Rifles."
