This is a collection of letters written by George W. Pearl, a private in Company C of the 117th New York State Volunteer Infantry Regiment (Fourth Oneida Regiment).

One letter was written to him by a friend named J.T. Goodfellow.

Biography

George W. Pearl was born in about 1841 in Hampton, New York, the son of George A. and Marcia C. Pearl of Clinton, Oneida county, New York. On August 12, 1862, at the age of 21, he volunteered for service with the U.S. Army at Rome New York and served in the 117th New York Infantry Regiment. View his Enlistment Form.
