Access Rights Guidelines

Definition

The access rights of a digital object make explicit who can view the digital object, what they can do with it, and how long that permission will stay in effect. The access rights set down by the Data Providers will be enforced as much as possible by CONTENTdm staff when setting up permissions for a collection.

The "Access Rights" element contains the following message that points to a "Conditions of Use" statement that applies to all objects in CONTENTdm such as the following:

"This image is posted publicly for non-profit educational uses only.
